Established by professional photographer and artist Katie Hamister,

Ginkgo Albums is a specialty album company created with discerning photographers in mind. Ms. Hamister began designing and hand making albums over 10 years ago while attending the Savannah College of Art and Design. She was introduced to, and instantly became enamored with, the art of book binding on a study abroad program that led her through France and Italy.

Katie began to hand make albums bound with Japanese silk and satin ribbon, first for her own wedding and then for clients of her photography business, who sought  distinctive and unique presentation options. As other photographers began to take note of her work, she began offering albums to an exclusive set of photographers.

Our Mission: To present, protect and preserve photography that captures life’s greatest events with handmade archival albums, portfolios and accessories.

Although we have developed our artistry and expertise into a business, all of our albums are still handcrafted, from start to finish, in our design studio in Cary, North Carolina. The same attention to authenticity and detail is applied to each and every book, box and gift that we create.

We believe an archival photo album should be an heirloom to pass down through generations. It should reflect the importance and distinctive style of what it holds.
